Filofax commentary

All in all, I did like the Filofax. The format was nice. But all things considered, it's not worth it to me to wrestle with a format that I can't buy things for in this city.

The binder worked really well. The rings are excellent quality, though riveted in place.

If Filofax wants to increase their market penetration into the USA, I have a few suggestions.
1) I love the Union Jack they did for England. Maybe a US flag?
2) Make the hole punches for these cheaper and more accessible.
3) Consider a few optional types of pages - a cheap photo insert would help a lot.

My new Filofax!

Near my home, there's a salvage store that normally specializes in foodstuffs and such.

Yesterday, when I went in, there was something special:

A brand-new Filofax.

I'm giving it a try. I like the format of the rings + elastic so far. I like the leather of the cover.

Astonishingly, it was only a few dollars. <happy bounce> Filofax normally cost too much for me, but this was affordable, so I picked it up.

Planner Stash: Part 1: Binders

I'm going to start off this section by going through all the lingering planner Stash that is laying about,  and maybe pruning it some.  The potential exists here for small giveaways of things like stickers and old pages if anyone wants them.

Bullet Journal - Collections

I've finally posted a page for the October Challenge!

Projects

I have a number of small projects for my planner coming up. Some specialty pages, some stickers,  and charms. Haven't got them worked out completely just yet,  but when I do I'll start posting them up.

Too many planners.

Does anyone else have the problem of not deciding well on what planner to use? I have fluctuated between various systems for years with varying degrees of success. The recent trend of planners as craft project seems to suit me well -  the boring planners are often ditched!

Right now I'm using a plain old mini three ring binder - classic/A5 size pages. My inserts are a mishmash between old planner inserts, cutout pages,  and newly printed planning pages.

My Disorganized Life

One of the things I'll be working on here is getting my life in order. Decluttering is priority one,  as well as weeding my wardrobe for fall.
I finished up my current temp assignment, so I will spend some time on it this weekend.
I am not a minimalist kind of person,  as anyone who has seen my piles of stuff can attest. But this weekend I intend to assemble outfits,  figure out what doesn't thrill me or go with anything,  and drop a pile at Goodwill. I have the box started. It's something at any rate.

Today's haul!

A run by Meijer with spend-it-now dollar-off coupons (boy they give those things short deadlines, don't they?), and I netted a cute super-discounted thing for my planner.

It's a Monteverde "365 Everyday Collection" 10 Color pen. I like having a number of different colors of pens with my planner, so this was a great find, and at a clearance price of less than a dollar will be well-worth the investment.

This is definitely the time to be shopping for planner stuff. The school supply clearances are in full swing. This was in the back of the actual stationery section, though, so remember to check both spots if you're looking for deals. There's a ton of Post-It love back there right now, if you're looking for some.

First post!

Well, hard for it not to be, I just started things.

This blog is for all the things to make life more fun, organized and interesting.

Planner love, recipes, and anything else that strikes my fancy will be here. Enjoy!
